The award was presented to Mary by Lady Elizabeth Toulson CBE DL, on behalf of Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Mr More-Molyneux.

On receiving the award, Mary said “This Community Award was a complete surprise and is a huge honour which I am delighted to accept on behalf of many people including in particular, my former and fellow trustees of the Sime Gallery. It will serve as a great opportunity to publicise the importance of the Sime Gallery to both the local and wider community. Thank you”.
