Here are some people and associations that we would like you to know about, as friends of the Sime Gallery.

Surrey Museums Partnership

SMP Surrey Museums Partnership has been a single point of contact for Surrey’s museums and galleries for 25 years. They provide advice and support for over 40 museums and their staff, including hundreds of volunteers, and are voice on a larger stage where most museums are small such as the Sime Gallery. The organisation is the only museum partnership of its kind. It is funded jointly by Surrey’s District & Borough Councils, and Surrey County Council. Visit their website here >

SEM Partnership

South East Museums acts as a leading source of professional support enabling the region’s museums to evolve and flourish.Funded by Arts Council England, they aim to sustain an inclusive, thriving, and dynamic museum sector that reflects the diverse narratives and cultural heritage of the South East of England.They provide grassroots support with expert relevant and timely advice, as well as essential funds to drive development and skills building opportunities for the workforce. Worplesdon Memorial Hall

Worplesdon Memorial Hall is a popular Village Hall providing an ideal meeting place for the local community with a variety of indoor and outdoor sports and recreational activities. It is the location for the Sime Gallery. Visit their website here >

Art UK

Art UK is a charity and an online home for the UK’s public art collections.It holds 132 images of Sime’s oil paintings in its collections. Their Exhibition in January 2018 featured Simes’ Waves’ at the London International Art Fair. Visit their website here >

Association of Independent Museums

AIM is a charity which supports and champions independent museums, galleries and heritage organisations across the UK by helping them to achieve their purpose and ensuring their needs are recognised and addressed by policy makers, funders and other organisations working in the sector.It helps heritage organisations to prosper by demonstrating the relevance and importance of our heritage to everyone so that it is preserved and inspires all our futures. Visit their website here >

Ewbanks is the Premier International Antiques and Fine Art Valuers and Auctioneers in Surrey, South London, Hampshire and the South East region, including an interest in Works of Art. As Surrey’s leading independent auctioneers they pride themselves on being a family firm providing the best service, knowledge and expertise. The National Lottery Heritage Fund

Geoff Burch, local Historian
